The African Fashion Industry Awards are held in Toronto, Canada and are designed to recognize and promote the phenomenal achievement of a variety of African brands in Canadian Fashion. The event nominates and honors African brands in an array of categories to include - ladies and men's wear, photography, media, models, and stylists to name a few. The event is meant to celebrate and support the Afro Fashion Industry, as well as nurture the accessibility of the industry in the Canadian Market.
Bôhten was nominated in the Accessories - Designer of the decade category, among 5 other African brands and designers.

The awards show is a part of African Fashion Week Toronto, a larger event taking place in the last week of August. AFWT spans across Toronto and brings exposure to a variety of designers and brands including those from out of province and throughout the world.
