On Wednesday, October 20, 2021, Bôhten co-founder, Nana Boateng Osei, will join a distinguished panel featuring leading Black business owners for an in-depth discussion about identity, brand awareness and business building on Shopify. The livestream, curated by the e-commerce company’s program called Build Black, will serve as a resource for Black entrepreneurs to start or grow their businesses. It will also present an opportunity for aspiring and current entrepreneurs to network with members of Shopify’s growing digital community.
Build Black is an initiative focused around supporting and celebrating Black-owned businesses geared towards elevating communities through its products and services. The program is multi-pronged, including the Build Black Community, providing entrepreneurs an opportunity to connect with Shopify merchants, and the Black Business Directory, which allows shoppers to navigate, support and shop at Black-owned companies on Shopify.
"This event gives people the opportunity to look under the hood and see what has been successful and what lessons we have learned as a Black entrepreneur," said Bohten’s co-founder, Nana Boateng Osei. “Working with a company like Shopify, that has been a platform that has supported us for a long time, has been instrumental for myself and other Black business owners."
Other panelists featured alongside Nana B. include Grammy award-winning singer-songwriter and founder of Schedule 1 Concepts (S1C), Miguel; creator and CEO of Culture Brands and founder and publisher of Because of Them We Can, Eunique Jones; and creator and founder of the Andrea Iyamah clothing brands, Andrea Iyamah.
