Share
Bôhten made its debut appearance at NYFW last fall, as it graced the runway with black fashion designer Stephen Goudeau. Only 5 months later, this black owned prescription eyewear brand will make another appearance at the renowned fashion event. This time, on display as a featured brand in The Folklore Connect & RAISEFashion showroom.
The NYFW showroom, powered by Spotify, will feature a lineup of African brands for buyers and retailers to engage with throughout a 3 day period. Diverse and luxurious brands such as Bôhten, Christie Brown, V Bellan, Oríré and many others will be on display at the event.
The showroom is open from February 9th - 12th in Soho, New York and will allow retailers, buyers, stylists and media access to connect and purchase products from the respective companies for their storefronts. Organizers will host a celebratory cocktail party on the first evening to recognize the flourishing partnerships between brands and retailers that will take place during the showroom.
This event is co-hosted by The Folklore Connect and RAISEfashion. The Folklore Connect is a wholesale platform that “...empowers retailers to discover, connect with and shop diverse brands in the global market” Their vision is to see their brands in retail stores around the world and this undoubtedly is a powerful step in that direction. RAISEfashion is a “non-profit network of fashion industry leaders, providing pro bono consulting to BIPOC-owned brands and individuals.
These two organizations have partnered to bring these African and black owned fashion brands to the forefront of retail at New York Fashion Week. We are truly honored and excited to see what new opportunities it brings.
