This festival in Lagos this Easter Weekend is a must: Our Homecoming

This 4 day cultural exchange in Lagos, Nigeria encompasses everything cultural and creative for the continent’s young generation. Here’s everything you need to know for you to add this festival to your must attend events.

Hosted from April 7th - 9th this Easter Weekend, HOMECOMING in Lagos, Nigeria will welcome droves of fashion icons and creatives from across the continent and the world, as they partake in the cultural exchange dedicated to “bringing African creatives and creativity back to Africa.” This 4 day festival is a cultural hub, incorporating the continent's art, culture and fashion in its purest form. Many striking looks, trends, concepts and connections will be created as the weekend goes on, as persons participate in an inspiring and original space that sets the tone for future events and festivals to come.

Homecoming has it all, “From explosive live performances by the world’s most exciting African and International stars, to an Education platform exploring the business of music, media and fashion through to a Streetwear Pop-Up where local and global designers release world-exclusive product collaborations.” Described as a movement, HOMECOMING was created to, "..ignite new cultural conversation and creative development across Africa." Their vision is, “ to empower the continent’s young generation with the knowledge and resources they need to inspire and enable future innovation and growth.”

HOMECOMING puts the continent’s young generation in the spotlight, allowing creatives in the music, fashion and art industry to shine. According to Ekow Barns at vogue.com, last year’s HOMECOMING was a sight to see. He says, “The street style bar was set high. Eccentricity was the hallmark, with Afro-futurism and retro references recurring through the festival-goers outfits.” Not only will you witness firsthand the continent’s creativity as it’s being made, but you have the ability to participate and contribute to history making yourself.

HOMECOMING promises “the world’s hottest international artists to perform back-to-back onstage with Africa’s brightest stars”
