1) What's a typical day like for you at Bôhten?
On a daily basis, I provide customer service support for prescription and non-prescription orders and inquiries. I’m basically the guy on the other side where customers who have queries regarding their prescription would talk to. I also supervise and ensure our optical laboratories are up to the task, to ensure all lens orders are fulfilled. I also manage the independent optical stores relationships on behalf of the team.
2) What makes working at Bôhten different from other places you've worked?
In my previous job, I was in the clinic the whole time attending to patients and I must admit this routine got boring sometimes. Working with Bôhten has given me the opportunity to widen my scope - I work with other departments like the sales, logistics, research and development and of course Club Bôhten which gives me the avenue to practice my clinical skills by attending to patients.
3) What is the most challenging part of your job at Bôhten?
The most challenging part of my job is trying to explain things to a disagreeable customer. But, that rarely happens though.
4) What is your favorite part about working at Bôhten?
Communicating with our lovely customers and stockists is my favorite part of the job. Receiving positive responses and compliments makes me proud to be part of the Bôhten team. In Bôhten, we prioritize quality customer service so when I get a positive feedback it’s excites me.
5) What cool projects are you working on next?
The Club Bôhten initiative is one of the cool projects I’m working on currently. It's where we promote eye care education and conduct eye examinations for children between 10 - 15 years to improve eye health in Ghana. Our aim is to eliminate poor vision as an impediment to learning and social development.
6) What's your favorite pair of Bôhten frames and why?
Until the release of the Duru Family, Aristotle Gold Rosewood was my favorite. I have however come to fall in love with the Abana Ebony because of its wider facial features which fit people of African decent better. I also like how the Ebony blends with my skin color.
Thank you Dr. Henry for sharing your experiences at Bôhten with everyone!
